Some Sierra Leoneans were left euphoric after a new price list for various brands of rice was released on the social media, Facebook on Sunday morning, July 5.

According to the information released, the 50KG bags of Bella Luna Parboiled rice, Big Joe Parboiled rice, and Habiba Parboiled rice will be sold at Le640 each. Those products will be available for purchase at Datsun and Kissy stores.

Report further confirmed that the 25KG bags of the same brands will be priced at Le330, also available at the same locations.

The announcement further detailed that 50KG bags of Butter rice will be sold for Le625, while the 25KG bags will be priced at Le317, with availability at Cline Town stores. Additionally, Warrior Long Grain rice will be offered at Le610 for a 50KG bag and Le310 for a 25KG bag.

A notable aspect of the announcement is the provision of delivery services for customers ordering 40 bags of 50KG rice or more, ensuring convenience for larger purchases.

To facilitate those transactions, the dealer has provided various payment options. Payments can be made through Sierra Leone Commercial Bank (SLCB) to the account number 003-001-147-236-112-120, or through Rokel Commercial Bank (RCB) to account number 001-298-001-1101.

Payments can also be processed via United Bank for Africa (UBA) at account number 540-110-030-025-890, Access Bank at account number 003-010-000-0314, Vista Bank at account number 610-012-044-640-129, and ECO Bank at account number 63-76-00-59-82.

The government has emphasized that these prices are subject to change based on market conditions.

Meanwhile, netizens reacting to the news pleaded with the government to ensure the retail prices also reflect that of wholesale prices.
