President Julius Maada Bio, during the commissioning of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) district office in Kono on Thursday, 14 May 2026, stated that the district’s development prospects were tied to continued support for the ruling party.
“If Kono District wants development, they should not vote for APC,” President Bio said while addressing party supporters and stakeholders at the event.
The official handing over of the newly constructed office was performed by President Bio alongside First Lady Fatima Maada Bio, who jointly unveiled the modern facility for the Sierra Leone People’s Party in Kono District.
The state-of-the-art building is expected to serve as a centre for party activities, meetings, and community engagements within the district.
According to President Bio, the office project was presented as a token of appreciation and commitment to the leadership and supporters of the SLPP in Kono.
He further noted that beyond political activities, the facility would also be made available to residents of Kono for civic and community-related events.
