Orange Sierra Leone Pays Courtesy Visit to New Minister of Labour Napoleon Koroma

Orange Sierra Leone has paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Minister of Employment, Labour and Social Security, Umaru Napoleon Koroma, as part of efforts to strengthen the relationship between the telecommunications company and the Ministry.

The visit provided an opportunity for Orange Sierra Leone to congratulate the Minister on his appointment and reaffirm its commitment to continued collaboration with the Ministry, particularly in promoting employee welfare, human resource development and a conducive working environment for its staff.

Welcoming the delegation, Minister Koroma expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that Orange Sierra Leone was the first private-sector organisation to pay him a courtesy visit since he assumed office.

Speaking on behalf of the Orange delegation, Madam Agnes Songa, Director of Human Resources, thanked the Minister for receiving them and stressed that the welfare of employees remains at the core of the company’s priorities. She emphasised Orange Sierra Leone’s commitment to working closely with the Ministry to address issues affecting its workforce.

The Minister further stressed that his intention is to move the Ministry from legislation to effective implementation, emphasising the importance of strong leadership, collaboration and timely action in creating a conducive environment for both workers and employers.

He assured the delegation that he would provide the leadership necessary to push the Ministry’s programmes forward as quickly as possible, while inspiring staff to deliver effectively on their responsibilities.

He encouraged Orange Sierra Leone to maintain direct communication with his office on matters relating to the enhancement of its operations and employee welfare, assuring the company of the Ministry’s willingness to collaborate.

The courtesy visit reflects Orange Sierra Leone’s continued engagement with government institutions and the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with the private sector in advancing labour relations, employee welfare and human resource development.
