Oswald Tech has been announced as the winner of the West Africa Startup World Cup semifinal, hosted by the Ministry of Communication, Technology, and Innovation.

The company is recognized for its innovative approach to sustainable energy solutions, specifically in converting seawater into clean energy.

Their groundbreaking technology utilizes saltwater-powered devices, providing over 600 hours of free light. This offers a safe and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional energy sources, which are often unsafe and polluting.

Key statistics highlight the critical need for their solution: approximately 600 million people in Africa lack reliable electricity. Oswald Tech aims to address this issue by projecting to serve 300,000 customers in its first year of operation.

The company operates within the $78.11 million African renewable energy market, which is expanding at an impressive annual growth rate of 30.8%.

With a business model centered on affordable, recycled products such as bottle lamps, cook stoves, and power stations, Oswald Tech is poised to lead the way in sustainable energy solutions across the region.
