Veteran ‘Poda Poda’ driver Thaimu Turay, fondly called “Thaimu on the Road” has received a Gold Presidential Medal Award today at State House during Independence Day celebration.

According to the citation, Thaimu is a “Poda Poda” driver and philanthropist who is running a transportation company with over ten vehicles.

Amadu Lamrana Bah states that, “Thaimu has trained over one thousand young people to be professional drivers, constructed a bridge, and now building a school in the Dwarzark community.”

“Congratulations Thaimu, may you continue to be on the road to be able to serve your people,” he stated.

Thaimu Turay is among seven recipients of the Presidential Gold Medal Award, that was awarded by President Bio for their remarkable contributions towards the development of the country.

The other recipients are; Samuel Ayo Thompson, Madam Zainab Kargbo, Madam Fatmata Kamara, Iris Frazer, Mr. Fomba Frazer, and Seargent11449 Maraima Bockarie.
