The Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) has officially certified the Liberation People’s Party as a duly registered political party in Sierra Leone.

In a public notice issued under the Political Parties Act No. 25 of 2022, the Commission said it exercised its powers under subsection 3(b) of Section 22 of the Act to grant registration to the new party.

“The Political Parties Regulation Commission hereby certifies that the Liberation People’s Party has been duly registered as a Political Party under the said Act.”

The certification means the Liberation People’s Party is now legally recognised as a political party and is eligible to participate in political activities, including elections, in accordance with the provisions of the Political Parties Act 2022.

The PPRC is the statutory body responsible for regulating, monitoring and registering political parties in Sierra Leone, with the mandate to ensure their compliance with democratic principles and the law.
