President Dr. Julius Maada Bio has symbolically planted the “Tree of Regional Integration” as part of activities marking the 69th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government held in Lungi, Sierra Leone.

The symbolic tree represents Pillar 3 of the ECOWAS Vision 2050, which is centred on Economic Integration and highlights the regional bloc’s commitment to promoting stronger trade links, improved connectivity, shared prosperity, and sustainable development among member states.

The planting ceremony reflects Sierra Leone’s continued support for deeper regional cooperation and efforts to strengthen unity and economic collaboration across West Africa.

The initiative forms part of broader ECOWAS efforts to advance integration, foster collective development, and build a more connected and prosperous regional community.
