Chief Minister David Moinina Sengeh has hosted popular Pujehun-based football coach Karmoh Lahai at State House following his team’s victory in the Radical Inclusion Movement Trophy in Pujehun District.
The meeting, held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, followed Lahai’s invitation to Freetown by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), which supported the tournament.
Lahai, who has gained attention on social media for his unconventional approach to coaching, reportedly made his first visit to Freetown during the trip. He is originally from Bonthe District and later settled in Pujehun, where he has built a reputation for coaching football in Mende and using distinctive methods on the touchline.
During the State House meeting, Lahai shared his personal journey and discussed his motivation for working in sports, as well as his coaching methods and football philosophy.
The Chief’s Diary post described Lahai as deeply passionate about football and highlighted his emotional connection to the game. It also said his approach includes wearing unconventional attire on the touchline and jogging around the pitch during matches.
Sengeh and SLFA President Babadi Kamara subsequently supported Lahai and his team with football and personal equipment. According to the post, the support included a full set of jerseys for his team, two tracksuits and sneakers for Lahai, a mobile phone and additional assistance to the Pujehun Football Association.
The post said the support was intended to give Lahai an opportunity to develop his potential and credited Kamara, the SLFA and the Radical Inclusion Movement team in Pujehun for supporting the initiative.
The Radical Inclusion Movement operates in Pujehun District under the patronage of Chief Minister Sengeh, who is from the district. The initiative has also undertaken programmes focused on education, youth participation and community development.
In September 2026, the movement concluded a free summer school programme in Pujehun Town and Sahn Town in Malen Chiefdom, where top-performing pupils were rewarded with learning materials.
Wanjama Stars FC also won the Radical Inclusion Movement League in Pujehun, a competition organisers said was designed to promote inclusion, unity, peace and youth participation through sport.
