Sierra Leone Police have arrested Hon. N’fa Sorie Koroma of Constituency 114 Calaba Town and one Osman Bangura of 162 Wilkinson Road, alleging that they were trying to cause confusion at RC Primary School polling Stations in Mammamah in the ongoing Parliamentary by-election in Constituency 073 Koya Chiefdom Port Loko.

It was further reported that both individuals were arrested without accreditation.

Local residents however accused the Inspector General of Sierra Leone Police, Ambrose Sovula of storming the community with seven truck police officers and unlawfully arresting N’fa Koroma while he was observing the bye-election process.

They further alleged that the Honourable was beaten and dragged into police custody.

 

It could be recall that an agreement was reached by all stakeholders that only accredited persons MUST be allow to monitor the by-election.

The Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL) this morning commenced voting process of the highly anticipated bye-elections in Constituency 005 in Kailahun and Constituency 072 in Port Loko district respectively.

ECSL stated that voting polls will remain open until 5pm local time.
