The Sierra Leone Police have expressed concern over the delay of their rice supply after it was alleged that the company abandoned its contract with the government.
Police officers said the supplier, VIP Group of Company, Bella Trading stopped the monthly supply of rice in December 2022 due to reasons best known to them.
According to them, no one knows whether the company is deliberately refusing to supply them, or the Government has not been able to settle its own part of the bargain.
They complained about how the delay has affected them and their families, noting that only God knows how they’ve been surviving these three months without their supply.
They called for the intervention government to help them get their three bags of rice owed for the three months of no supply.
