Sierra Leonean Domestic Worker in Oman Sent to Prison Following Gas Accident
Ibrahim Hashim A Sierra Leonean domestic worker in Oman identified as Memunatu Turay is reportedly held in prison because she could not pay for her medical treatment after a gas exploded on her.
Isatu Turay, the sister of Memunatu explained that her sister involved in a gas accident which exploded on her in Oman and she was taken to hospital for medical treatment.
She however stated that Memunatu could not afford the bills to pay for her treatment.
“So the managements of the hospital took the matter to the police station. She still couldn’t afford the bills and she was later sent to prison,” Isatu stated.
She added that her sister has been in prison for the past five months with her current condition.
