The Chief Minister, Dr. Moinina David Sengeh, on Wednesday met Sierra Leone’s first student team to qualify for the Pan-African Mathematics Olympiad (PAMO), ahead of their scheduled departure on Thursday, 25 June 2026.

During the meeting, Dr. Sengeh pledged continued support for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) initiatives aimed at promoting academic excellence across the country.

Team leader, Amos Vandi Saati, expressed appreciation for the support provided to the team.

The Pan-African Mathematics Olympiad (PAMO) brings together secondary school students from across Africa to compete in mathematics. Sierra Leone’s participation marks its first-ever qualification for the competition.
