The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has announced plans to hold a press conference on Thursday, November 5, to brief the media and the public ahead of the Leone Stars’ upcoming two-legged encounters against the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
According to a public notice issued by the association, the press conference will take place at 3:00 p.m. at the SLFA Conference Hall at the association’s secretariat in Kingtom, Freetown.
The engagement is expected to provide an opportunity for the media to receive information ahead of the important qualifying fixtures as Sierra Leone prepares to face DR Congo.
The two matches against DR Congo are scheduled for November 12 and November 17, 2026, respectively.
The fixtures form part of Sierra Leone’s campaign in the qualifying competition for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Leone Stars will be looking to make a strong impression across the two encounters as they pursue qualification for the continental tournament.
The SLFA has invited members of the media to attend and cover Thursday’s press conference.
The notice was signed by Ibrahim Kamara, Head of Media and Marketing at the association.
The press conference comes ahead of the November fixtures and is intended to bring the media and the wider public up to date on the national team’s preparations for the qualifying matches.
