Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President Babadi Kamara on Thursday, 6th August 2026, inspected the ongoing installation of seats at the new 435-seater pavilion at the SLFA Technical Centre in Freetown.
The pavilion, valued at over US$250,000, is a landmark infrastructure project personally donated by President Kamara to boost football development in the country.
During the visit, the SLFA President was briefed on the latest phase of work, where seat installation is said to be progressing rapidly. He expressed satisfaction with both the quality of work and the pace of implementation.
President Kamara urged project supervisors to maintain high standards and ensure the facility is completed on time.
“Investments in quality facilities are essential to creating an enabling environment for the growth and success of Sierra Leone football,” he said, reiterating his commitment to improving football infrastructure nationwide.
Once completed, the pavilion will provide modern seating for spectators, players, officials and guests during matches, training sessions, and football development programmes at the Technical Centre.
The 435-seater pavilion is the latest in a series of personal contributions by President Kamara. Others include a US$95,000 perimeter fence and dressing room rehabilitation project at the Wusum Field in Makeni.
SLFA officials say the new facilities are part of broader efforts to upgrade training and match-day infrastructure to support the growth of the game at all levels in Sierra Leone.
