The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has handed key assignments to three Sierra Leonean football officials for upcoming continental competitions, highlighting the growing recognition of the country’s football administrators and technical personnel on the African stage.
SLFA Vice President 2, Prince Kai Saquee, has been appointed as Match Commissioner, while SLFA Referees Manager, Alhaji Sanusi Rasheed, will serve as Referee Assessor for the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round fixture between Nigeria’s El Kanemi Warriors FC and União Desportiva, scheduled for 6 September 2026.
Saquee and Rasheed will also perform the same respective roles in the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2027 qualifying match between Gambia and Somalia on 25 September 2026.
Meanwhile, another Sierra Leonean official, Mohamed Alphaka Conteh, has secured two CAF assignments as Match Commissioner.
Conteh will oversee the AFCON 2027 qualifying fixture between Cape Verde and Rwanda on 29 September 2026. He has also been appointed Match Commissioner for the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round encounter between Nigeria’s Shooting Stars SC and Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien.
The appointments place three Sierra Leonean officials in important positions across major CAF competitions, reflecting the growing trust in the country’s football administrators and technical officials.
The latest CAF assignments also provide further international exposure for Sierra Leonean officials while strengthening the Sierra Leone Football Association’s presence in the administration and organisation of football competitions across the continent.
