The Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) has announced new measures to reduce road traffic crashes, including introducing mandatory standard vehicle inspections for all vehicles entering the country.
According to the Authority, any vehicle that fails to meet the required safety and roadworthiness standards will not be issued a Temporary Vehicle Registration (TVR). Such vehicles will also be barred from being registered in the system until all requirements are met.

The initiative is part of the SLRSA’s efforts to ensure that only roadworthy and safety-compliant vehicles are permitted to operate on Sierra Leone’s roads.
Authorities say the move is expected to significantly enhance road safety and reduce road traffic accidents nationwide.
