In response, Speaker Thomas thanked the ambassador for the visit and welcomed him to Parliament and Sierra Leone. He noted the longstanding relations between the two countries and reaffirmed the Sixth Parliament’s commitment to deepening bilateral ties.

Thomas expressed his willingness to meet with the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament and lead a delegation to Tehran at a mutually convenient time. He also reiterated Parliament’s commitment to peace, parliamentary diplomacy and South-South cooperation.
