When the APC came to power in 2007, Kemoh Sesay was the first Cabinet Minister to drag journalists to court for false publication. The Independent Observer alleged that he had built a house in less than one year in office.

The paper’s managing editor, Jonathan Leigh and his deputy, Bai Bai Sesay were charged to court. Kemoh Sesay appeared in court to prosecute them. I was one of the people asked by SLAJ to negotiate the release of our colleagues. I went and met Kemoh in his house to beg him to drop the matter.

All he wanted was a retraction and an apology. He got both. The matter ended. Let my good friend Kemoh Sesay swallow humble pie and apologize and retract his vacuous rants against the President of the Republic.

The President is a good man. He has a forgiving spirit. He is not a vindictive leader. Kemoh appears frail and unwell. Let the President forgive him on humanitarian grounds. After all, the President has seen worse things in d hands of his haters and detractors. But he has always emerged whiter than white.

Let Kemoh Sesay do the right and decent thing by apologizing and retracting his reckless and irresponsible statements. That’s what a decent man should do. And Kemoh Sesay is expected to do just that. Some of us will continue to appeal to President Bio to forgive Kemoh Sesay in d name of God.
