The Western Area Rural District Council (WARDC) has announced that the 2026 Local Tax is now available for payment and collection across the district.
In a public notice issued on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, the Council stated that the approved rate for the 2026 Local Tax remains NLe 10.00 (Ten Leones) per person. Taxpayers will receive their official Local Tax certificates immediately after completing payment.
According to WARDC, residents can pay and collect their 2026 Local Tax certificates at designated Council offices, including the WARDC Headquarters in Waterloo, Grafton Office, Sky Junction Office, Mountain Office, and the Solo B Drive Office in Goderich.
The Council has encouraged all eligible residents within the Western Area Rural District to make timely payments and collect their certificates to avoid delays.
WARDC noted that local taxes remain an important source of internally generated revenue, helping the Council provide essential services and support development initiatives in areas such as health, sanitation, markets, and community development projects across the district.
