A Water tanker has reportedly exploded near a fuel station around Congo Cross roundabout in Freetown which led to a fire outbreak.

Sierraloaded learnt that the incident happened on Thursday evening. However, there were no causalities as the fire service was quick to put off the fire.

Just last week, a fire outbreak had occurred at the Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone which threatened its administrative buildings during the evening hours of Tuesday, 26th April, 2022.

Videos shared on social media shows students outside their residential hostels making efforts to put out the fire which had spreads close to the College library destroying its surrounding bamboo trees.

Fire incidents is not new in Sierra Leone as the Freetown Fire Service recently released a report saying it has recorded an alarming 102 fire incidents in the city alone since the start of the year, January 1st to February 22nd 2022.

In a recent development, a fire also broke out at Songo Toll Gate located at Makoloh Village which serves as one of three toll gates along the main highway linking Freetown to the Provinces.
