Residents of this quiet residential community on the Jui/Regent Highway in Grafton were shocked to the core when the remains of one 42-year-old Sentho Bangura were discovered dead in her bedroom in the evening hours of Friday, October 28th.

Her partner a recent university graduate who is also a teacher at the Baptist School at the New Camp in Grafton explained that he had left the lady at home in the morning to go to his place of work but upon returning could not find her as she had the keys to the apartment.

Her children who are twins and the deceased’s sisters also came to look for her but no one could tell her whereabouts. Even though she had not been missing for 24 hours the husband proceeded to report her absence to the Grafton Police station but was told he must wait until after the statutory 24 hours.

According to him he returned home and asked his neighbor to force open his door which they did and behold the lady was found on the floor of the bedroom. She must have been dead for several hours.

Several close neighbors including the husband were arrested the following Saturday morning and are currently in custody helping the Police with the investigation.

The whole community is in shock and completely out of fear of being arrested or interrogated. The autopsy report will possibly shed light on the time and cause of death as the whole situation is surrounded by mystery. I must commend the crime officer Inspector Issa and his team for their swift and robust response.
