The head of the New Energy Governance Coordination Group at the Ministry of Energy, Dr. Kandeh Yumkella, will represent Sierra Leone at this year’s 10th Powering Africa Summit in Washington, D.C.
The theme for this year is “The Future of the U.S. & Africa Energy Partnership.”
Key highlights of the event will include a regional focus, with PAS25 fostering strategic partnerships to address energy needs across the continent. The two-day agenda promises high-level addresses, interactive panels, and meetings designed to facilitate impactful connections between U.S. government officials and representatives from across the African continent.
Dr. Kandeh Yumkella’s leadership continues to play a critical role in strengthening Sierra Leone’s energy infrastructure and addressing the ongoing challenges in the energy sector.
KKY represents the highly cultured and educated “African begging syndrome.” Not sure of the impacts of these summits. What we need in Africa, and particularly in SL, is to identify and promote our own, the likes of “Elon Musk, Bill Gates, and Jeff Bezos.” We need creators, innovators, to solve the myriad problems we face as a society.
