2023 Elections: APC’s Ultimatum Ends Today

The ultimatum given by the All People’s Congress (APC) party Presidential Candidate, Dr. Samura Kamara for the resignation of the Chief Electoral Commissioner Mohamed Konneh and his deputies to resign will end today.

Kamara’s ultimatum came on Wednesday afternoon after citing that Konneh’s selection was not done in tandem with due process.

The APC Presidential Candidate gave the Konneh and all regional commissioners of the Commission to resign by Friday.

With barely a week to elections, Kamara epitomised his lack of trust for the ECSL.

He made his intention clear by asking for the international community to control the elections.

In response to Kamara, Konneh affirmed that he will not accede to the demands of the APC stalwart.

“We will not resign,” Konneh said.

Sierra Leone will go to the polls in a multitier election on 24 June -8 days from now.

Political tension is already at the apex between the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and the main opposition APC.

Samura had gone out of his senses, he's so irresponsible that nothing good will come out of him, even during the campaign. He behaves like a floatsan and jetsam, who has no moral value.

What is important here is that the correct procedure and protocols should be taken. After all it is an open secret that the whole ECSL is flawed because they are government sponsored. I mean for the first time ever they blocked first time voters not to register, as if that is not enough over two hundred and fifty thousand names were deleted. Then to add insult to injury he refused to give the correct data. So this hypocrisy by some people is really serious

As a sovereign State, Sierra Leone politicians should be ashamed of themselves at the eleventh hour to called on the Chairman and Electoral Commissioner to resigned due unprofessional misconduct. APC should have continue to protest during the time Mr Konneh was appointed in late January 2020. Why would you advocate a sovereign State of Sierra Leone to plead to the International Community and UN to man our elections process in Sierra Leone?? Did the constitution of Sierra Leone mandate the opposition of Sierra Leone to call on outsiders to man our elections without the indigenous peoples of the State??? Is Mr Samura aware of the consequences of Sierra Leone government and the people will faced if the election is disrupted and puts into chaoes or political instability?? There is nothing anyone can do. Mohamed Konneh will not resign if you are not ok with that you can go to the police. Babuyai oooooo!!!!!!
