APC Opens Applications for Regional Executive Elections, Sets Deadline
Aaron Parker The All Peoples Congress (APC) has announced the opening of applications for its forthcoming Regional Executive Elections, inviting qualified party members to apply for positions between Thursday, October 15, and Tuesday, October 21, 2026.
In a public notice issued by the party’s National Secretariat, intending aspirants were advised to obtain and submit their candidature forms within the stipulated period, as late applications will not be accepted.
The forms will be available at the party’s regional offices and National Secretariat. The Secretariat said timely submission would allow for processing, eligibility verification, entry into its online candidature portal, and the preparation and publication of candidate and delegate lists.
According to the notice, aspirants contesting for Regional Chairman will pay a total of NLe 3,300, comprising a NLe 3,000 candidature fee and a NLe 300 application form fee. Candidates seeking other Regional Executive Committee positions will pay NLe 1,200, including a NLe 1,000 candidature fee and a NLe 200 application fee.
The party stated that the candidature and application form fees must be paid together as a single transaction through its dedicated Orange Money merchant code, 271703. Applicants are required to retain their transaction confirmation messages as proof of payment.
On eligibility, the APC reminded aspirants that they must satisfy the constitutional requirements for their respective positions, including membership subscription obligations.
The notice specifically referenced Article 55(d) of the APC Constitution, 2022, which requires a member seeking election as a Regional Officer to have been a registered, paid-up party member for a continuous period of at least five years. Aspirants were therefore urged to verify their membership records and subscription status before applying.
Members seeking to pay their subscriptions have also been provided with a prescribed Orange Money procedure through which payments can be made and verified on the party’s digital membership platform. Where necessary, payments may also be made through the APC’s account at Rokel Commercial Bank, account number 1086762.
The National Secretariat called on aspirants, party officials, delegates and other stakeholders to comply with the APC Constitution, 2022, and the applicable electoral rules and regulations.
It also urged all concerned to cooperate with the National Secretariat and the Independent Elections Management Committee (IEMC) to ensure an orderly, transparent, peaceful, free and fair regional electoral process.
