Sierra Leone’s main opposition, All People’s Congress are going to launch its manifesto on Monday, May 29, 2023.

The party has already presented Dr. Samura Kamara as their Presidential candidate for the June elections, the same candidate presented in the 2018 elections.

Sierra Leone will go to the polls on June 24, 2023 in a multitier election where Kamara is contesting against the incumbent President Julius Maada Bio and 11 other candidates.

In his recent tours around the country, Kamara promised to fix Sierra Leone’s battered economy. He told locals to trust him because of his vast experience in public service.

Kamara blamed the Bio Administration for bad governance and poor economic policies.

Sierra Leone is undergoing turbulent economic instability at present the country’s currency continues to nosedive against other foreign currencies.

In fact, a study by Johns Hopkins University revealed that Leone is among one of the most devalued currencies in the world in 2022; placing it in the top five.

President Julius Maada Bio has promised to solve the issue if voted for a second term in office.

Bio, in a recent interview with foreign media, revealed that the situation could have been worse had his government not use methods to cushion the effect.
