Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba Road Magistrate Court has ordered lawyers of former Freetown Mayor, Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr to file their no case submission before the next three weeks.

Magistrate Ngegba’s decision came after the lead defence lawyer, Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara ended their case and asked the magistrate to grant an adjournment of three weeks for him file a written no case submission.

Kamara, during the preliminary investigation, told the court that they rely on the evidence they have presented in court.

The prosecution was also ordered to reply the defence within the three-week adjournment.

Aki-Sawyerr is in court for investigation for allegations of obstruction of police duty and disorderly behaviour. The former Mayor was said to have committed the crimes at Lungi Airport Police Division. She has vehemently denied the allegation and is presently on bail as the case nears its end.
