Former Vice President of Sierra Leone, Victor Bockarie Foh has said that the presidential candidate of the opposition All People’s Congress (APC), Samura Kamara is not a ‘politician’ and it would be difficult to ‘market’ him for an electoral victory.

Foh who recently pitched tents with the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) made this statement while speaking with supporters of his new party in Kabala, the largest town of Koinadugu District in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone.

“I voted for Maada Bio. This needs no secret again. Before we voted (in 2018), I asked to speak to my Boss then, President Ernest Bai Koroma in the presence of Samura Kamara and Chericoco. I told them this Man (Samura) is not a politician. To market him will be difficult. I told them in the open that I don’t believe he will win.”

Foh had served in 2007 and 2012 as Secretary General of the APC. He was later appointed Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to China and eventually Vice-President after former President Ernest Bai Koroma axed his vice, Alhaji Samuel Sam-Sumana in 2015.

The former APC Advisory Council member is now campaigning for the re-election of President Julius Maada Bio adding that the decision to join the ruling party is from his volition and was not coerced by any SLPP party stalwart.

“If we want this country to progress, we must vote Maada Bio and the SLPP,” Foh told cheering supporters.
