Yvonne Aki Sawyerr, the former Mayor of Freetown and a prominent figure in the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) party, took to social media to express her dissatisfaction with the voter registration data released by the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL) today.
According to Yvonne, the data released by ECSL does not match the voter register that the APC Party had requested.
Yvonne further explained that the Register of Voters, as outlined in Section 13 (I) of the Public Elections Act 2022, should provide a breakdown of registered voters at the center level, including their names and Voter Identification Numbers.
“What ECSL has today released is not the voter register APC Party has requested. The Register of Voters as stated in PEA2022 s13 (I) is disaggregated at centre level with the names and Voter Identification Numbers of registered voters” she writes
Earlier today, the Chief Electoral Commissioner, Mohamed Konneh, announced that the ECSL had uploaded the complete Sierra Leone Voter Registration Data, organized by polling stations, on their official website.
He made this announcement during his keynote address at the ECOWAS/ECSL event, which aimed to engage with Chief Executives and Senior Editors of Media houses on election reporting.
This development follows numerous appeals from the opposition, particularly the main opposition party APC, urging the ECSL to publicly disclose the voter registration data.
Mohamed Konneh is provoking the people of Sierra Leone to War. He thinks people are stupid as he is and the rest of the political party he supports (SLPP). These political idiots have never learned anything from the eleven year brutal War they themselves unleashed to the people of Sierra Leone and claimed thousands of lives. We are watching developments very very closely!
Mr.ECSL Boss, you are deceiving yourself.
You think that the people of Sierra Leone are as Stupid as you are. Please publish the registrants list (names of people and their registration numbers) in each and every polling station in the country.
Please do that quickly before it is too late for you and your family.
Don’t you know that you are at a very high risk? Just try anything otherwise. You will regret your actions and say, “Had I known”
You must save Sierra Leone from war, by doing the correct thing.
Thank you, God bless Sierra Leone.
