Saudi First Division side Al-Jeel has signed Sierra Leone international Abu Dumbuya as the club prepares for the upcoming season.
The 27-year-old defensive midfielder arrives after a brief spell with Finnish Veikkausliiga club AC Oulu, where he made nine league appearances earlier this year.
Born in Freetown on Jan. 29, 1999, Dumbuya brings international experience, having earned 21 caps for the Leone Stars since his 2019 debut. He was part of Sierra Leone’s squad at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, appearing in the tournament held in early 2022.
Dumbuya scored his only international goal during 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification — a November 2024 strike against Chad. His senior career includes a 2019 national championship with East End Lions in Sierra Leone and a stint with Gençlik Gücü in Northern Cyprus.
The midfielder is expected to add defensive stability and experience to Al-Jeel’s squad.
