The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has unveiled businessman, Alhaji Umar Bah as the new Team Manager of the Sierra Leone National Homebased (CHAN) Team. The unveiling ceremony took place this morning at the football academy Kingtom in the midst of members of the FA and the media.

Alhaji Umar Bah is a Sierra Leonean business tycoon, who’s the CEO of Sierramin Bauxite Mining Company; owner of Simbakoro Auto outlet vehicle dealership in Sierra Leone and North America. He is also the Chairman of Real Republicans Football Club, a 3 times Sierra Leone Premier League champions that have been in the 1st Division for the past 14 years. With Mr. Bah’s astute leadership, the club is now on the verge of returning to the Sierra Leone Premier League next season, as they have already qualified from the Preliminary stages, and emerged as champions of the Super 10 to the playoffs.

In his statement, Mr. Bah expresses his appreciation for the new role entrusted in him.

“I’m happy for the appointment, I’m ready to serve in this capacity and support the growth of football in the country. I look forward to have a cordial relationship with the FA.”  he stated

The Coordinator, renown football administrator, Victor Lewis is optimistic that Mr. Bah will yield results in his new role. He describes him as a football enthusiast who has contributed a lot to the development of the game.

The Sierra Leone National Homebased Team is in preparation for the TotalEnergies Africa Nations Champions (CHAN) Algeria 2022 double Qualifiers aganist Cape Verde in July this year. Alhaji Umar Bah will look forward to kick-start his role as Team Manager for the Leone Stars B immediately to ensure the team qualifies. Coach Francis Zappa Koroma has already invited 50 Homebased players to training.
