Sierra Leonean FIFA-badge referee Aminata Fullah received recognition for her officiating during the WAFU A U-20 Girls Tournament 2026 in Guinea-Bissau.
Fullah served as centre referee for two matches during the competition. Her first assignment was the opening fixture between hosts Guinea-Bissau and Liberia, which ended 2-0 in favor of Liberia. She was later assigned to Match 7 between Senegal and Mali, where Senegal won 4-0.
Tournament officials and stakeholders noted her consistency, decision-making, and match control during the games. Fullah was also selected as the face of refereeing for the competition, with her image featured on official referees’ training materials and tournament publications.
At the closing ceremony, she received a medal in recognition of her contribution to the tournament.
Sports stakeholders said her performance reflects the continued involvement of Sierra Leonean officials in regional competitions under the Sierra Leone Football Association.
They added that her participation has been highlighted as a point of reference for aspiring referees in Sierra Leone, particularly young women entering football officiating.
