Last month in August, after defeating Liberian champions LISCR FC with a 2-1 aggregate, Bo Rangers Football Club, the consecutive champions of the Sierra Leone Premier League, are set to play against Algeria’s CR Belouizdad.

The match will be held today in Bo City for the second preliminary round of the 2023/24 CAF Champions League qualifiers.

The Southern Arena Stadium, with its 6,000-seat capacity, will witness the two teams clashing for the third time. While CR Belouizdad had a commendable 3-0 victory in their previous meeting during the 2022/23 CAF Champions League in Algeria, which allowed them to advance after a subsequent goalless draw in Liberia, the Bo Rangers remain undefeated at home in over forty games across both local and international competitions. Given this backdrop, Coach Alhaji Foray and his team are gearing up for a crucial match against CR Belouizdad, hoping to secure their inaugural home win on the continental stage.

A home triumph over CR Belouizdad would significantly boost the Elephants’ chances of reaching the group stage. Babadi Kamara, the Executive Chairman, emphasized the club’s aspiration for the 2023/24 CAF Champions League during a celebratory dinner he hosted for the players and technical staff after their win over LISCR FC.

For those eager to witness the showdown, tickets are now on sale at various locations in Bo. These include Moi Sellu Bar, Total Filling Station on Torwama Road, Leonco Filling Station at Shellmingo, City Choice Boutique on Dambala Road, Southern Arena, Box Point, Day One Night Club, and Genesis Night Club. Prices range from NLe 20 for Open Stand seats, NLe 50 for Covered Stand, and NLe 100 for VIP access.
