Coventry City have announced that English- Born Sierra Leonean, Mohamed Fankaty Dabo will be released from the club this summer.

The news comes just three days after he missed the deciding penalty in their Premiership PPlay–off defeat to Luton Town on Saturday.

After a 1-1 draw in normal and extra-time at Wembley, penalties were required to decide who is promoted to the Premier League.

Each side’s first five spot-kicks were all converted, with Luton’s Dan Potts scoring at the start of sudden death.

Dabo stepped up for Coventry to keep their promotion hopes alive, but he sent his effort high and wide of the goal.

It meant Luton won and will play in the Premier League next season, with Coventry remaining in the Championship.

Dabo won Coventry’s 2019-20 Player of the Year award. Today The right-back is one of the seven players to be released by Coventry at the end of the season.
