Several Sierra Leonean football fans are hailing Prince Barrie for his exceptional performance in the Leone Stars African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against Sao Tome on Sunday 26 March 2023.

Many fans took to social media to hail Barrie’s performance against the Parrot. He served as a very good defensive right-back against the host which resulted in Leone Stars winning the second leg.

“Prince Barrie for me was the Man of the Match. He was by far the best player on the pitch,” one fan stated after the match.

Another said, “If it was not for Prince Barrie we would not have won the match. Coach Keister needs to start him in every match going forward.”

“Prince Barrie is our best winger,” other fans stated.

Prince Barrie is a natural winger but the Leone Stars gaffer, John Keister converted him to a man in the Right back position. His combative skills to tackle and attack left many Sierra Leonean football fans marveling at his performance.

Locally, he had a successful season with Bo Rangers, scoring goals and providing assists. This earned him a move to East End Lions.

The Leone Stars of Sierra Leone thrashed Sao Tome 2-0 in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers. Abu Bakarr Samura and Alhassan Koroma give Leone Stars the early lead against their opponent.

Sierra Leone has so far collected the maximum three points to maintain their third position with 5 points.

Meanwhile, Nigeria currently leads Group A with 9 points followed by Guinea Bissau with 7 points. Sierra Leone sits third at the log with 5 points trailed by Sao Tome with only 1 point.
