Three (3) FC Johansen players have safely landed in Berkane, Morocco for a pre-contract trial with RS Berkane Football Club.
Johansen’s sensational midfielder Samuel Bekoe, defender Lamin Conteh and winger Mohamed Santhawahaj Bangura departed the Lungi International Airport at around 6AM and arrived at the Casablanca Airport in Morocco at 11AMM (SL Time) on Sunday 21st August, 2022, where they were picked up and headed to RS Berkane Clubhouse.

They will be joined by the CEO of FC Johansen, Malik Pascal, who is traveling from Europe to Morocco for a pre-contract assessment with Moroccan top-flight football club, Renaissance Sportive de Berkane (RS Berkane FC for short) – champions of the 2022 CAF Confederations Cup and the 2022 Moroccan Throne Cup.

Midfield maestro, Samuel Kwaku Bekoe has had an illustrious journey in the Sierra Leone Premier League since he joined FC Johansen in 2019 from Ghanaian Premier League side International Allies FC. He has won several awards with stellar performances while with Johansen. Despite not being naturalized, Samuel has been featured in an unofficial match for Sierra Leone National Team this year in Turkey.
Defender Lamin Conteh has earned utmost respect for both club and country. Since joining Johansen in 2020 from Estate Contractors, this young and talented defender has been very impressive. He has earned several caps for the Sierra Leone U-17 and U-20 sides, and he has already earned 9 amazing appearances for Leone Stars.

Winger Mohamed Santhawahaj Bangura aka Messi has had an incredible run, whose talismanic performance caught the eyes of football fanatics. He has been a topnotch star since he joined FC Johansen in 2021 from Diamond Stars FC. He is currently a national call-up to the Sierra Leone U-20 Side.

Lamin Conteh will join his national teammates (Homebase Team) for the CHAN Qualifiers later this week against Mali. While Santhawahaj Bangura will also be with the U-20 side for the WAFU Zone A Championship in Mauritania.
A Spokesperson for FCJ commented that “since the existence of FC Johansen, founded 19 years ago, the club has been synonymous with giving youth players a platform to chase and realize their dreams”.
The Club plans to restructure management, and an injection of fresh young players into the club with the possibility of new international partnerships could see the club on the rise again after a rough and challenging few years.
