FC Kallon were victorious against the defending champions, Bo Rangers at the Approved School Grounds in Wellington, Freetown on Saturday night.

David Janneh’s header in the first half was the decider for the Cavaliers to claim their first victory against Rangers in six meetings in the Sierra Leone top division.

The centre-back converted one in the 25th minute from a corner kick.

The defending champions have defeated the Cavaliers in all five previous meetings including a 1-nil victory last season which earned them a vital three points in the charge for the championship.

FC Kallon are now in second place with 15 points after eight games played. The Cavaliers are just four points behind the league leaders, Bhantal FC who are with 19 points from seven games.

Bo Rangers currently hold the fifth position in the standings with a total of 13 points. Their performance this season has not met expectations, especially when compared to their results in the previous two seasons.
