FIFA President Mourns With SLFA Over The Death of Former Leone Stars Team Manager

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has in a letter dated November 8, 2022, joined the Sierra Leone football family in mourning the death of former Leone Stars Team Manager Eric Lansana who passed away on Saturday November 5th, 2022 following a gruesome road accident on his way to watch a football final in Bo City.

In the letter addressed to the President of the Sierra Leone Football Associations Thomas Daddy Brima, President Infantino expressed his “sincerest and heartfelt” condolences on the passing of Eric Lansana. He stated that, “Former Sierra Leone National Team Manager and Technical Director of Bo Rangers FC, he will be remembered for his tremendous commitment and remarkable contribution to the development of the sport that unites us.”

In conclusion, President Infantino states that, “On behalf of the international football community, I wish to extend our deepest condolences to the Sierra Leone Football Association, and, most importantly, to Eric’s family, friends and loved ones. Our thoughts are with all of you”.
