Former president of Sierra Leone Football Association, Isha Johansen has today on a letter addressed to the President of Sierra Leone, His Excellency, President Maada Bio, expressing her heartfelt condolences and memories on the sudden death of former Sierra Leonean striker (1994-2002), Junior Tumbu.

FIFA Council Member and CAF Executive Member, Isha Johansen reveals on her letter emotions when the news of the sudden death of the star and colleague reached her. She expressed the shock and great sadness she has in conveying her deepest sympathy over the loss of Lamin Conteh, popularly known as Junior Tumbu.

According to Isha, she is truly proud and honoured to not only have met and know Junior Tumbu, but to have worked with him as he served as an honorary Ambassador for football during her tenure of office as SLFA President.

In describing qualities of the legend, she said Junior Tumbu humility and unconditional love for game and pride of his nation was infectious and beyond imagination.

With “death” as a hard fact we must accept, Isha mentioned that Junior Tumbu’s name will forever be embedded in not only Sierra Leone’s football history records, but he will be remembered as one of the Continent’s Football Greats.
