Sheik Alhaji Mohamed Omodu Kamara, widely known as Jagaban, a prominent philanthropist and key figure in the main opposition All People’s Congress Party (APC), has generously donated a sum of Le 40 million to St Joseph’s Agricultural Secondary School in Blama, small Bo Chiefdom, Kenema District.

The donation, made on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, is specifically designated for the school’s annual Sports Meet events and other social activities, aiming to alleviate financial pressure on parents. Parents of the pupils have expressed deep gratitude to Jagaban, hailing his generosity as a significant relief from the financial burdens they face. They urge other natives from Blama to emulate Jagaban’s example and support their community school.

The impact of Jagaban’s philanthropy extends beyond this recent gesture. Parents commend his ongoing support, which includes previous contributions towards building the school fence and the monthly stipend payment for over two years to teachers not on the government payroll, among other financial aids.
