Sierra Leonean defender Abdulai Juma Bah is set to join German Bundesliga side FC Augsburg on loan from Manchester City for the 2026/27 season.
The proposed deal is understood to include a non-mandatory purchase option; the transfer was still awaiting the completion of the final medical and signature at the time of the latest update.
Bah has travelled to Germany to undergo his medical as he prepares for the move, which would mark his third loan spell since joining Manchester City.
The 20-year-old previously spent time on loan at French clubs Lens and Nice. During his spell at Nice last season, Bah made 41 appearances across all competitions, establishing himself as an important figure in the club’s defence.
Several other clubs, including Atalanta, Newcastle United and Ipswich Town, have reportedly expressed interest in the defender. However, FC Augsburg currently appears to be the club closest to completing a deal for Bah.
If final formalities are completed, the move will provide the young defender with another opportunity to gain regular first-team experience in one of Europe’s top leagues.
