Sierra Leonean youth prospect, Abdulai Juma Bah recorded his debut for Ligue 1 side, RC Lens.

Bah, who joined Les Sang et Or on loan from Manchester City, came in for captain, Jonathan Gradit in the 90th minute of play.

The 18-year-old towering defender became the first Sierra Leonean player to join an English Premier League defending champions on January 27 when he completed his move from AIK Freetown.

The 6ft 4in teenager broke record when Real Valladolid promoted him to the first team —becoming the first Sierra Leonean to be featured in a La Liga match after a single match with the B team.

Bah’s journey has been noteworthy, often cited as a testament to patience and hard work. He gained significant recognition in 2022 when he was registered as a loan player by Freetonians SLIFA, a club in the Sierra Leone Premier League, from AIK Freetown.

RC Lens, which defeated Montpellier 2-0 in the French Ligue 1 on Friday evening, are currently positioned 5th in Ligue 1, having accumulated 33 points from 20 matches played.

With the team conceding 18 goals this season, fans are hopeful that Bah will enhance the defence further.
