President of SLFA, Babadi Kamara, has been recognised for his outstanding leadership and notable contributions to the development of football in Sierra Leone within his first year in office.

President Babadi was honoured by the Leone Rock Premier League Board during its awards ceremony at Bintumani Hotel on Friday the 7th August,2026 in recognition of his leadership and the positive developments recorded in the country under his administration.

According to SLFA, since he assumed office, the SLFA boss has overseen several major interventions aimed at strengthening the football ecosystem.

“Under his leadership, the Premier League secured US$180,000 in sponsorship from Leone Rock Metal Group, while the seed money for Premier League clubs has been increased to NLe 225,000 per club.” SLFA.

President Babadi Kamara has also supported the development of football infrastructure, including the construction of a 435-seater pavilion at the SLFA Football Academy.

In addition, he has secured a new Secretariat for the Association through the FIFA Forward Programme, an important step towards strengthening the institutional capacity of the SLFA and many more.

President Kamara further expressed his commitment to expanding football infrastructure across the country, including the construction of artificial-turf pitches to provide players, clubs and communities with improved facilities for training and competition.

Finally, the SLFA was also given an Institutional Excellence award.
