The Sierra Leone Senior National male team is set to go head to head with Sao Tome on Wednesday, 22nd March 2023 with the return leg on Saturday 26th March 2023 in Agadir, a city along Morocco’s Southern Atlantic coast in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The AFCON qualifying matches are resuming in March due to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Sierra Leone currently sits 3rd in Group A table with a single point trailing behind Nigeria with Six and Guinea Bissau With four.

The two back-to-back matches dor is a must win for Leone Stars Coach John Keister if they are to keep their hopes of qualifying for AFCON 2023 in Ivory Coast.

However, there has been efforts by the Sierra Leone Football Association to host the said matches at the Souther Arena in BO but it is yet to get CAF Approval for FIFA sanctioned matches.
