The Sierra Leone delegation has arrived safely at the Noom Hotel in Conakry, Guinea on Saturday evening ahead of the Leone Stars 2021 AFCON decider against the Squirrels of Benin on Monday 14th June 2021 in Conakry.

The Leone Stars delegation departed the Radisson Blu Mammy Yoko Hotel in Freetown at 3:30 AM and arrived at the Gbalamuya Sierra Leone/Guinea border at 7:15 AM, where the entire delegation was halted from entering into the Guinean territory until it was able to provide certified COVID-19 test results. The delegation had to wait at the border until the results were released by NaCOVERC in Freetown, before leaving the Sierra Leone/Guinea border at around 3:30 PM.

The Leone Stars delegation was later joined by the Minister of Sports, the Executive Director of National Sports Authority, and other officials who formed part of the Sierra Leone contingent. The delegation is made up of players, technical staff, officials from the SLFA, Ministry of Sports and NSA staff, and the media.

Nevertheless, the players and technical staff are looking forward to qualify the nation for the 2021 Cameroon AFCON Finals against the Squirrels of Benin on Monday 14th June 2021 at the Stade De General Lansana Conte Nongo in Conakry, Guinea.
