Leone Stars of Sierra Leone will take on Sao Tome in the second leg of a double-header 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers on Sunday 27th March at the Grand stage d’ Agadir, the stadium in Morocco.

Sierra Leone drew 2-2 with Sao tome the last time they met at the same stadium.

The two teams created chances but Sao Tome converted their early lead in the 43rd minute of play.

After Sao Tome opened the scoring, Sierra Leone replied with Mustapha Bundu’s goal in the 47th minute of play to level the scores.

Sao Tome replied with a second goal in the 59th minute of play and Sierra Leone’s Forward Abu Komeh scored the equalizer in the 77th minute.

However, ahead of the crucial encounter on Sunday, Leone Stars players have apologized for the draw. They have expressed renewed commitment to tackle the Parrot of Sao Tome on Sunday.

Sierra Leone was at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon last year, and they will play their fourth match with the hope to make the next edition in Ivory Coast.
