The Sierra Leone national team, Leone Stars have completed their first training session ahead of AFCON Qualifying match against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The match is due to take place on Sunday evening at the Samuel K. Doe Sports Complex in Monrovia, Liberia.

Sierra Leone will need a win if they can keep their hope alive for qualifying for the finals in Ivory Coast next year.

“We must win this match!

“I respect you and have confidence in you guys.

“On Sunday, please play for your country by winning the match,” Head Coach, John Keister urged the players after the training session.

The Leone Stars team has one of the highest concentrations of home-based players with 14. Keister invited only 11 professionals including captain Steven Caulker and Barnsley’s Idris Kanu.

The Super Eagles are also expected to jet in Liberia on early Saturday afternoon.

A draw will see the Super Eagles progress as they currently have 9 points.

Group leaders, Guinea-Bissau has 10 points after defeating Sao Tome and Principe by a goal to nil.
