Luawa Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Mustapha Pa Saffa Sama as the new assistant to the head coach of their Premier League team. In addition to his duties as assistant coach, Pa Saffa will also take on the role of technical director for Luawa FC’s nationwide academy, which spans eight campuses.

Mustapha Pa Saffa Sama brings a significant wealth of experience and expertise to his new position. His illustrious playing career is marked by his tenure as a central defender and midfielder, where he earned 40 international caps for Sierra Leone. Notably, he has also captained the Sierra Leone national team on several occasions, showcasing his leadership abilities on the field.

During his time in Sierra Leone, Pa Saffa played for various prominent clubs, including Wusum Stars, Ports Authority FC, Wellington People FC, and East End Lions FC. His football journey extended beyond his home country, allowing him to develop his skills and experience at several African clubs such as Boavista de Praia in Cape Verde, Wallidan FC in Gambia, and JS Kabylie in Algeria.

Pa Saffa’s international career further broadened as he played for numerous clubs around the globe. These include Vasalunds IF in Sweden, FK Haugesund in Norway, Sporting Charleroi in Belgium, Syrianska FC in Sweden, ACB Hanoi in Vietnam, Persija Jakarta in Indonesia, Al Wahda Club in Syria, North Carolina Soccer Team in the USA, RBAC FC in Thailand, and Hatyai FC in Thailand. His extensive international exposure has equipped him with a diverse and rich understanding of the game, both tactically and culturally.

Transitioning from a player to a coach, Pa Saffa has taken on coaching roles at Wellington People FC in Sierra Leone, African Best in Thailand, and Terror Squad FC in Kenya. His coaching career reflects his versatility and ability to adapt to different football environments and cultures, making him an invaluable asset to Luawa FC.
