Hassan Z. Mansaray Chief Executive Officer of Mena Queens Football Club based in Makeni stated that his side is in high spirits to secure all three points against Kahunla Queens FC from Kenema, on Saturday, 15th October 2022 in the opening ceremony of the maiden Women’s Premier League in Sierra Leone, at the Wusum field in Makeni.

Mansaray also established that Mena Queens Football Club is producing the youngest squad in the league, however, three new players are set to boost the current squad a Liberian and two Guineans costing the club the sum of thirteen thousand Leones (NLe. 13,000) all joining for a long-term contract.

He continued that the opening encounter against Kahunla Queens FC is set to be a historic moment for the club a time to prove that Makeni is still the home of female football, and as well a time to react to the 4-1 defeat Mena Queens FC suffered against their counterpart during a friendly match in Kenema which was part of the Premier League build-up “it was during my era as Head Coach of Suba United Makeni had the glory of being the home of female football, so if now I am speaking as a CEO of the only female club representing the entire district in the league then all you should expect is positive results, we are going to represent both the district and the region, we will only satisfied with our representation when contesting for the title and that journey starts right away on Saturday” he ascribed.

CEO Hassan Mansaray concluded by appealing to stakeholders and residents in Bombali to provide financial support and rally behind the club both in Makeni and during away encounters “football has to deal with huge motivation financial support and as well cheering the players, this is what exactly we are looking forward from the stakeholders and residents of Bombali and the region at large” he asserted
