Former presidential candidates for the Sierra Leone Bar Association, Augustine Sorie-Sengbe Marrah and Wara Seray-Kamal, have issued a public notice disputing the results of the recently concluded Bar Association election held in Kenema.

In their notice, Marrah and Seray-Kamal stated that they do not recognize the individuals announced as the new Board of the Sierra Leone Bar Association on May 20, 2024.

They alleged that the newly announced board members are paid-up members of the AGM and asserted that no democratic election process was conducted, thereby invalidating the election of the new Board.

The notice also called for a press conference to be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at the New Brookfields Hotel at 12:00 PM. Members of the Bar Association and media representatives are invited to attend, where Marrah and Seray-Kamal will communicate their official position and outline their next steps.

The public notice invites members of the Bar Association and representatives from the media to a press conference on Tuesday 21st May 2024 at the New Brookfields Hotel at 12:00 PM to communicate their official position and outline their next step.
