The captain of a branch of FC Kallon in Kenema said Sunday he was devastated after hearing that the supposed owner of his soccer team has disowned the club.

According to TV-News24, Mahmoud Yussuf – Lacoste – says he was in total disbelief upon hearing that Mohamed Kallon was disowning the team.

“I don’t actually know what to say. All my years here have gone in vain. I have been approached by many clubs, but I denied, believing that the owner, Mohamed Kallon, knows what we are doing here,” Yussuf says.

FC Kallon was registered in Kenema in 2011, and a division one side.

But its parental side, of the same name – FC Kallon – was registered in the capital Freetown, and plays in the Sierra Leone Premier League.

But on Sunday, Kallon, the owner, says his intention when he formed the club in 2011, in Kenema, was for it to develop youths between the ages of 12 to 15 years – so they’ll serve as a feeder for the premiership side…not otherwise.

Therefore, the iconic former Monaco, Inter Milan, Leone Stars striker – who played for many other international clubs – decided to renounce his ownership of the club.
